The Métis Nation of Ontario announced the Grand River Métis Council election on November 7th, 2025, in accordance with the Community Charter Agreement, By-laws, and Community Council Electoral Code.
Nominations opened on November 12th, 2025, and closed December 1st, 2025 at 4:00pm. Following the close of nominations on December 1, 2025, six (6) nominations were submitted to fill six (6) positions, and all were verified as candidates. Four (4) positions did not have nominations and remain vacant. As there were no contested positions and the council met quorum, there will be no voting in the election.
