On June 21, we gathered at Camp Brébeuf in Rockwood, Ontario, for our GRMC Community Rendezvous. We couldn’t have asked for better weather as we spent the day together, surrounded by the beauty of nature and our wonderful GRMC community.
Kanoo Coffee kept us caffeinated and brought some tasty treats that were enjoyed by all.
A special thank you to Anne and her kitchen crew for preparing a wonderful lunch of chili, hotdogs and Bannock. It was delicious and enjoyed by all!
We were also honoured to have President Pont from the Niagara Region Métis Council join us, bringing the fur traders’ encampment and spending the day sharing knowledge, stories, and history with our community. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn and experience a piece of Métis and fur trade history.
Our day was filled with fun and adventure, including a nature walk and scavenger hunt with Angie C, axe throwing for both adults and kids, a high ropes course, and a special appearance by Ricky Raccoon! Jaclyn the Métis Healthy Babies Healthy Children Coordinator and Wade the Community Wellness Coordinator from our office joined for the day bringing activities and shared knowledge of resources for our community.
A huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers. We truly could not have pulled off such a fantastic day without your time, energy, and dedication.
Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make our GRMC Community Rendezvous such a memorable day. We are grateful for the laughter, learning, connection, and community that we shared together.
