After a few weather-related delays, third time was a charm for the Niagara Region Métis Council Youth Group! On Thursday, August 6, the rain finally let up and youth were able to head out for a day of canoeing on Sixteen Mile Creek in Niagara.
With the Métis Nation flag proudly flying from the back of one of the canoes, the group spent time together on the water, enjoying the outdoors, staying active, and building connections with one another.
A big maarsii to guides Owen and Stephanie from Owen’s Adventures for helping make the day possible and providing a fun and memorable experience for the group.
This canoe trip was one of the many activities bringing Métis youth ages 13–17 together through the NRMC Youth Group to connect with community, explore Métis culture and traditions, and—of course—have some fun along the way!
